1. HISTORY

1959
Under the aegis of Mr Paul Bergère, SINBPLA Company is established by Loire Atlantique wood wholesalers pooling. The firm mainly aims at providing its members with timber and wood derivated products.

1975
Because of the 1973 oil crisis, The BECOB group becomes major shareholder of SINBPLA. Thus, it extends its exotic wood selling activity to the softwood products. From then, SINBPLA concentrates on Scandinavian, Canadian and Russian woods.

1978
SINBPLA created an office in La ROCHELLE - LA PALLICE, to complete the exotic woods sector created by BECOB in 1977.

1986
SINBPLA bases an agency in BORDEAUX-BASSENS, along La Garonne river, on the specialized port.

1992
The internal re-organization of the group BECOB leads the GUEGUEN company to join the SINBPLA. St MALO becomes the fourth setup site.

1995
The former USSR changes convinced SINPLBA to open an office in CEI and in Latvia, in order to improve Russian and Baltic wood supply control.

1997
Pinault Pintemps Redoute group (P.P.R.) buys out BECOB. This operation enables our company to enter a world renowed group.


Todays, our firm is well based and is able to distribute at national level, but even in Spain and Portugal a specialized and complementary range of products.

The company is composed of 60 persons, distributed all over the different sites. These represent a storage area of almost 15 Ha, among which 30% are covered, which enable us to offer permananently 65.000 M3 products.

2. SITUATION

Each agency offers the whole range of softwoods available in one or other outlet. But it also specializes in some products according to the local consumption habits and the port structures, or the compulsory statements of the shipping.

NANTES
Thanks to its position in the first French wood import port, most of the species of softwoods and the differents kinds of panels and fibreboards imported in France are available there :

LA PALLICE
This agency has specialized in high quality Canadian and American woods, with a 3.000 M3 permanent stock.

BORDEAUX
Scandinavian, Baltic and Russian softwoods, as much as panels stand for most of the 12.000 M3 to satisfy the South-western market.

ST MALO

The agency has there specialized in framework and roof related products. A transformation workshop offers more services to the customer (battens, rafters...).

- 7 000 M3 permanent stock.

5. CUSTOMERS

SINBPLA adresses to the wood transformation dealers and industrialists from whole France.It is a great wholesaler in the timber field.

The minimum sale unity is the full semitrailer of one or several products that SINBPLA proposes.

SINBPLA delivers an average of 30 semitrailers a day, each measuring 40 to 45 M3.

SINBPLA imports almost 300.000 M3 of softwoods all over France, that is to say some 80 3.750 M3 stopovers a year, worth 15% of the softwood imported in France.
